Andrew Burstein has a Ph.D. in history from the University of Virginia and is the Charles P. Manship Professor of History at Louisiana State University. Andrew is the only professional historian to have authored a complete biography of Washington Irving—The Original Knickerbocker: The Life of Washington Irving—and he has written ten other books on early U.S. history, including Lincoln Dreamt He Died and The Passions of Andrew Jackson. With Nancy Isenberg, he coauthored The Problem of Democracy and Madison and Jefferson.
