Lettered Editions are true works of art. These are the pinnacle of craftsmanship—books created without compromise, often letterpress printed and handbound by master bookbinders. From the materials to the methods, everything is executed to the highest standard, turning the book itself into a sculptural object worthy of admiration. The work is done entirely by hand, from sewing each signature (section of pages) using traditional stitching methods, to creating custom-made head and tail bands (the decorative details at the top and bottom of the spine), to assembling bespoke clamshell boxes or slipcases. The process is slow and deeply intentional—each copy can take dozens of hours to complete, and often no two are exactly alike. Because of the skill and labor involved, Lettered Editions are produced in extremely small quantities.
